Essence initiates the process. The line/kav doesn't just get the filtered details. It carries the ohr atzmi / the essential light. This is because the cleaving is initiated from above. Essence wants to remain involved with the creation process. Its always there, and doesn't have to be initiated from above.

The question from the mentee to his mentor is an opportunity. The mentor brings something from an enormous truth beyond the question of the mentee.

We don't have to hold onto the mentor. He's holding onto us.
