Man represents what is above creation. And he brings from above into creation.

No other creature has the 10 faculties/sphirot that a man has. Man is made as a reflection of the 'original man' (adam kadmon) of atzilus.

Though man was the last in creation, yet it is he alone that reflects 'adam kadmon'.


The rest of creation is just an external reflection (ha-arah chitzoniut).


This is like the difference between the sun and sunlight. The sun does not have to be effective to 'be what it is'. Sunlight has to deal with darkness to be what it is – it is a reflection, not the essence itself.

All creations exist when they are created, but man alone is preconceived.

Man is made in God's image. Down here on earth he can lose sense of this and base his orientation on his experience.
