Questions and comments:

We are dealing with a number of comparisons. We are comparing the light to the vessel. To make this kind of comparison there must be something in the vessel that approximates light...

The vessel suits what it carries.

The cup is suited to the water it contains.

The vessel is suited to the light it contains. It represents and brings out a certain aspect of the light.

Yet there is an enormous difference between the light that is invested in the vessel, and the vessel itself.

Yet there is a comparison between the two – the cup is created and used, so that a man can drink with dignity.

This is like the difference between the house and the home.
