Questions and comments:

The principle that the Rebbe is explaining: the principle of light/ohr is hard to understand. Light is simple. It does not contain a particular message. Ohr/light is the expression of the presence of essence/etzem. Etzem is the fundamental truth that does not show any specificity or particular element.

Essence is the fundamental reality without any cause.

The light from there has 10 sphirot. And the kav/line as it is in the source already has the 10 sphirot.

These are called the 10 hidden sphirot that do not make themselves known.

These are the root and source of gvul/limitation.

Gvul/limitation is that which eventually results in the creation of 'worlds'. So when there is a world with its definitions, it did not develop inadvertently as the result of conflict – it represents the Godly source... even up to the level of the infinite light preceding the contraction.

God said, 'let there be light' and there was light. Before He made the sun. This light he hid, but an element of this first light was retained even into the present day and the present world.

He called it 'day'. Day means a fundamental light, not an illumination. 'Day' is not in contrast to darkness, it is in a reality unto itself...

It is not functional. It is a state of being.

Day is a state of being that is beyond function, but it includes also functional light... and this aspect illuminates darkness and deals with it... even though 'day' per se is beyond darkness. The ability to deal with darkness is not the essence of day – it is contained with in it.

There are 2 elements in the light before the contraction – the infinite light, and the light of the kav/line.
