The lights would be too simple/pashut and too powerful if not for the tzimtzum.

The human being is multi-faceted. Take the hand for example – the writing with the hand is a processing of what is in the mind...


The human spirit imbues the writing. If he just focusses on the writing it will be distorted. The full light is present when the hand is connected to the human spirit...


The 10 hidden sphirot are there because the ohr ein sof is there, even though they represent individual qualities. They are individual qualities mixed together. After the tzimtzum each sphira is identified individually.

If not for the contraction/tzimtzum, there would not be the possibility for worlds to relate to the light.

Sight is not proof of something, it is the existence itself.

This is like chochmah/wisdom which perceives the reality.

It is not deductive. It is a direct sense of reality.


This chochmah contained in the infinite source is different from when it is revealed.


In source it is 'true because it is true'. When revealed it is 'true because you see it'.

Take one letter from a word and you have reduced the light that it emanates.

This has important implications regarding the Godly reality in the world.

All components of human reality carry a light even when out of context... that is to say parts [eg the leg of a table] retain their reality...

The leg of the table contains an element of devekut – cleaving/connection to a human reality.


The main point: light can be contracted. Light can be put into a keili/vessel. To do this there needs to be an extreme contraction/tzimtzum of the light.


A house is like the keil/vessel for the home, as long as the house allows itself to be formatted for this purpose.

They tried to kill the Jewish people. But the mission continues. We continue with our divine purpose.

To create a home in this physical world you first build a house. What's the difference between a house and a home?

A home is the vision in the human spirit. But you cannot go from thought in actuality, you start by building a house – and the house will need maintenance...

God creates things the way they are perceived by Him. He makes the human being as perceived originally... He does not make it piece-meal...


And man thinks this way. He thinks in terms of a home. The inner reality is what he perceives. But in order to relate to a home in this world, you show him a house – a house from a 'home' perspective.

The word alludes to the original concept.

Together they are also a revelation and a metziut/thing.


Joining letters together creates a word... and the word is the recipient of meaning and the meaning becomes understandable from the midst of these letters...

We looked at light. We looked at how it is inside the sun in contrast to how it is outside the sun.

Outside the sun the light becomes an identifiable 'thing'/metziut.


By contrast, within the sun there is an abundance/ribui of light.

This abundance cannot be defined in words. Ohr/light is concept of mind. Think of a metaphor where a house becomes a home. The change takes place in an instant. It is due to the 'light' of the owner.

When the light is revealed it is reduced. Yet, it remains the very same light as it was within the light.

If it touches you for one moment, you are no longer the same person...!

Even if the sphirot are revealed together that will still result in metziut/thinginess, since revelation has to do with things coming into being.

In everything there is the cause, and then in contrast with that, you have the thing's own presence.


'Light' has to do with a principle being clearly expressed.


'Light/ohr' speaks of a different reality. Reality beyond the tangible.

If one sphira is revealed then it is in a state of reduced light. If the sphirot come together then there is an abundance of light.

The tzimtzum means that the lights and the sphirot become individually identifiable.

This is not to say they become separate entities that do no recognize their neighbors.

In the source the sphirot are one with the ohr ein sof.


And even after the tzimtzum the sphirot remain the same, only that they now become recognizable.

By contrast the vessels/keilim are in a self-defining, separated status.

The vessels are also sourced in ein sof – in the faculty of limit (koach hagvul) in infinity.

We are saying that the light that is desired is the ohr pnimi (internalized light), which can be presented within a vessel.

Think of chesed/kindness. Chesed is the sense that 'we are not separated' from each other. We can go out of ourselves and have a feel for someone else. This is chesed/kindness. This is like water that runs from a high place to a lower place.


And this emotion needs to be defined more specifically so it can be translated into an action – like giving a coin.


The action is a translation of the kindness in the soul.
