“Mind The Gap” p105

“No-one understands what life is, although it is constantly experienced.  It is the Godly presence in the world that brings life into the world. “

The Rebbe is describing the ‘curtain’.  The separation between different worlds.

He uses ‘our understanding of Godliness’ as a metaphor for this.  He explains that our understanding of Godliness is based on His actions - what He has done in creation.  We give things a time and space orientation.

Truth is that God’s work is not place dependent.   And if we try to rise above a ‘space’ orientation we will not really be successful.  This is because for us ’space’ is a fundamental presence.

Our understanding is not like His, which is an understanding beyond the framework of ‘place’.

In the world of atzilus, place does not substantiate existence.
