Sechel is based on the principle of truth.Truth is exclusively a Godly phenomenon.
And the view of chochmah, has within it the 10 sphirot - it too is a Godly creation and thus has a full presence.It did not arise inadvertently.

Cause and effect deals with the reflection/ha-arah, and not the essence.
Essence does not relate to hishtalshalus - gradual development, but ha-arah does.
You can see the pure truth without being affected by it.It is not worldly.It is beyond definition.The world does not have pure truth - it is a creation.It is there because of the Creator.When you see the world, you see the will of the Creator.

How does wisdom/chochmah know without dealing with definitions?It is like sight - it sees the object directly and doesn’t work in a defined procedural way…
Wisdom/chochmah gets the essence of a thing.
With his mind’s eye he sees the truth of the thing - as it is unto itself.
Seeing the thing, is after the fact.Seeing the essence is seeing the truth of the thing.
And each thing and material has a ‘truth element’ - down to the lowest physical level.

The student understands his mentor.He ‘gets what he’s shown’ - this is an external view.Then there’s the internalization and goes deeper than the initial presentation.With focus and labor he delves into the sechel that is being taught to him.

This foundational element is the basis for our sechel.the mentor/mashpia knows his sechel/mind from that level of reality.
This cannot be communicated to the student.He is in touch with his own reality.He gives the student a reflection of the essence of his sechel.
Ultimately the student also has this and the mashpia alerts him to it.
God gives vitality to everything.But the student is not aware of it.He may be so oblivious to it that he can take action that is contrary to the Giver of his own soul.He may think that he depends on the world and not on the Maker of the world…

The mentor/mashpia not only knows the material, he lives with it.He went to the source of the sechel/mind and then that source imbued itself within him.
Without his mentor, the student has no access to the master’s perspective.
The mentor knows the subject at the reality level.At the level that precedes mind/sechel.
He can give the student a reflection/ha-arah of this reality.
Mind is ultimately talking about something real to the soul.It is not talking of ‘something I know’ but rather ‘something I am within’.
