For a new mindset [sechel chadasha] you cannot revert back to you former experience.  You have to rise up you vessels of mind, to relate to something to which you have not been exposed previously…

Without this elevation the vessels tend to say, ‘yeah.  I saw this yesterday’. 

And if something does not correlate to a previous experience you may tend to dismiss it… This tendency has to be overcome and the vessels elevated…

The is a moment of ’what could this possibly mean?’  Which is a gateway to the new insight.  

We are looking at the the difference between mind [mochin] and emotions [midot].

When there’s the need to compare and balance between 2 concepts or view-points then he must get to the heart of each and judge between them.

Mind translates in to consciousness what the soul knows.  This process is very engaging and satisfying.  

Mind/sechel carries with it a soul truth.  

Living does not require justification.  There is just pure will to live - it is beyond revelation and function. 

This points to the ‘truth element’ in life that cannot be defined.

Mind/mochin reflects the truth of a human being - pure truth.

On the one hand mercy makes sense only when there is a recipient - and without a recipient it seems like a meaningless quality [ie God needs a world to have mercy].  

On the other hand we say his mercy and rulership is ‘forced out by His will’. 

The revelation of the king’s reign is the external level.  The level that can be seen by his subjects…

His reign is at the truth level.  He does not rule due to ability or subjects.  He reigns due to the fact that he is inherently king.

Only kingship [malchut] has the element of presence before the level of revelation.  It has inherent revelation even while it is the essence.

“Master of the world who reigned before the world was made…”  How?  This is his kingship as it is within His essence itself - as it is above revelation and expression.  

In the realm of revelation, kingship is relevant to worlds [in contrast to being an internal faculty/sphirah]. 

Intelligence exists in the human being, prior to being revealed.  We can relate our essential intelligence that exists in a state preceding expression.

The sphirah of malchus provides the king himself.

A nation with a king is a real people.  

He joins them to a higher purpose.

From their inception they have the intent of coming down into vessels.  

Inside the infinite light there is a light that is projected for the world.  This light has 10 aspects - 10 sphirot - for the purpose of illuminating the wold. 

As the Zohar says,  He is called wise - with all types of wisdom” and all the 10 sphirot are listed there and contained within Him.  

The King provides what is beyond immediate need.  He provides the sky.  The air from Him you can breathe.  Breathing from a box or a tube is torture.  He provides by his malchus/kingship.  When we get up do we see the world or the King of the world.

This takes place in the level of inner light [ohr pnimi].  It reaches down to the goal of being clothed in a vessel/keili.

Even at the highest level the infinite light projects entering into a context of measurement and limitation.

Light starts from an essential point. 

From the perspective of mind/mochin a person is able to do something based on the truth alone [not for any gain or experience] - this is essence.

This essence point affects the levels and faculties that are below it.  

The essence is not unto itself - it is a Godly creation and one element of its creation is to illuminate all of existence. 

And this is the element of inner light [ohr pnimi].

The essence is ‘happy’ to be ‘applied in your world’ - this is the attribute of ohr pnimi.

Smallness of mind [mochin de katnus] seeks support and nurses the emotions.  

Greatness of mind identifies ‘where I want to go to’ and doesn’t seek support. 

Mind/mochin gets its strength from cognizance of the divine presence.  Mind on the small level needs validation from the worldly context.

What can we say about Godliness that is beyond being enclothed in the garments of the world…?

The Godliness is there, but beyond worldly or tangible terms.

We experience of Godliness continually… and so we can speak of comprehension [although it is not a worldly comprehension].

Where is our exposure to Godliness that is beyond enclothment in world?  What type of comprehension/understanding is this?

We have ample experiences to reference.  The light created on day one was too much for the world.  It was light without a luminary.  So this light was withdrawn [an re-introduced via the sun].  

Daylight is reminiscent of the initial light of day way.  Daylight is not countering darkness - it has no challenges.  

We experience daylight in our world, but it is not really worldly.  We have a soul quality that can relate to this kind of truth.  This is called wisdom/chochmah.

We are obliged to focus in on this wisdom and the Godliness it represents - we are duty-bound.  We are not relegated to worldliness per se, even though we have been sent into a worldly context…

We are Godly creatures.  

“He redeemed us from slavery into freedom”.  If he took us out of slavery are we not automatically free?  No. Freedom is an additional gift.  We were not taken from slavery under pharaoh into the wilderness of the world… no, we were brought into a context of real meaning and purpose - 24/7.  

This is the greatest gift.  The ‘meaning’, corresponds to our own intelligence is the context of freedom - we are not in a house, we are in His home.

Wisdom / chochmah by its nature recognizes Godliness - the First Being - who has no cause.  

This is similar to sight - you see a view due to its truth element, rather than its impact. 

A view of the sky remains where it is.  It cannot really be described.  

This is wisdom/chochmah.  And the chochmah of the level briah [creation] is different to that of atzilut [emanation].

Emotions have a ‘self’ experience.  Mind, by contrast, is fully dedicated to getting that which is given to it.  And mind/mochin has 2 levels.  1. the essential mind, and 2. the level that pertains to emotions. 

Essence is a level beyond world.  So what do we mean that there is a level of mind/sechel that relates to essence?  The world is a creation.  It did not evolve.  It was intentionally created by a creator.   

So there is an essential principle in what He has created.  The Creator’s part in His creation is the essence.
