 We are talking about the infinite light.

We said emotions are relevant only when there is an external subject.  Mind/mochin is more inward.  Yet it too reflects outside - it provides the inspiration.

In contrast to mind and emotions we came to the infinite light…

This light is there only to reveal the essence.  It has no other mission.  

The purpose of light is to bring the effect of the sun to the outside - ie it has a distinct function.

This is like ‘day’, which is a new reality, and not just the diminishing of light.

Sight is direct.  There’s no process.  It is like wisdom beyond understanding.

And there is an element of chochmah/wisdom that is higher than my experience.  This is the base concept of wisdom [shem chochmah].

Above a certain level knowledge is within truth - there’s no possibility of not knowing.  The absolute truth cannot not be known.  

At a lower level there is knowable wisdom.  And it is preceded by the principle - the concept before the presence - the principle of wisdom that cannot be communicated to another since it is embraced by the absolute reality.

Emotions by definition are functional, they are based on a worldly reality.  By contrast intellect and mind [mochin and chochmah] are not world based - they reveal Godliness - whether inwardly to itself or outward to others.

We are making a distinction between emotions and intellect.  Emotions relate to others.  

Wisdom/chochmah is internal.  It does not need another.  

Why does wisdom/chocmah come to the level of being known by an outsider?

This is because what I understand is not personal - it is a divine truth.   Within our own truth we know we are here by divine gift.  

Inner wisdom has the ability to be communicated to others.  It does not have to be communicated externally - it can stay within its source.

Not only that, thought and speech are 2 different levels.  Thought goes to the essence.  Speech is more external…

The answer is that this representation of himself to others is really being himself to the fullest.  Being human means being involved with other people.

What does it mean that thought reveals one’s inner reality to oneself and then it get formalized into language and can even be communicated in words and speech?

This is like a table - originating in the spirit of human dignity becoming a piece of furniture - it takes on form and definition.

This is a mission given by Him.

Thought is an out-flow of the human soul.  

Man’s participation in the world is not strange to him.  It is by virtue of his Creator’s assignment.

By knowing Himself, He knows the Torah.

This is like thought and speech.  Thought is continually in action.  It is not focussed and it never rests.  It is the revelation of yourself to yourself.  

If it should cease, then life ceases.

This thought does not engage or tire the person - it just gives the sense of ‘there is a reality’. 

This is the life element expressed in a conscious existence.

It says nothing specific, but it tells the person everything.  

It is knowledge of all reality and thus all elements can be put in their place.

Your own truth is not that you are contained within yourself, but rather that you are a creation within a huge reality.  

Even the stars are part of your reality.

Speech is a derivative from this.

Speech needs thought as a pre-amble.  It is an expression of that which takes place in thought.

To live you have to know yourself - and that happens in thought.  

These thoughts are not investigative - they don’t have a ‘Q & A’ format.  They are unified with his mission.  A mission given to him by his Creator.

We are looking at wisdom/chochmah as it is in the essence - this is described as ‘knowing Himself’, and by knowing Himself, He knows the Torah…

To understand this, think of a home.  A home is essential for a human being.  And when you think of a home you see all the furnishings, and rooms, and cutlery - everything… the details are part of the definition of the  home - details unlimited.   

Or think of a king and his nation.  The nation has infinite variety and the king inspires everything that takes place in his kingdom.  The king contains inherently the unlimited variety of his nation. 

And what is the point of ‘knowing Himself’?  Ultimately when all becomes revealed they are not details without basis in truth.  All the things of the world are based in His divine truth - they are minute revelations. 

Think of your thoughts.  Your thoughts identify and define on a revealed level the internal truth.  

It is your thought that enables you to relate on a conscious level.  Thought employs language - even if it is a private language.   This means that you are an observer and there is knowledge beyond experience.

Thoughts reveal our own truth to ourselves.
