For the emotions something that is appealing is good. For the mind, there is discernment - not everything appealing is good, and what is good should be pursued.
And then there is a level of mind that is above relating to the emotions. A level that is closer to ‘the thing itself’ by contrast to ‘what it stands for’.
The level of mind that relates to the emotions is external.
And what is the difference between mind and emotions?
The mind/sechel says, ‘what’s the point?’ A point is tiny, but that is the whole thing!
The essence of a thing has a Source. It does not exist on its own. It is created.
