The makif/sky provides a higher perspective, even while treading on earth. Do I relate to the earthly challenges, or my overall perception of reality which is on a shamayim/makif/surrounding level?
The makif is not a removed and distant element, it is providing its superior quality to earth. It provides earth with a sense of heaven. It is not oblivious. While it it remains unaffected.
