AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel Friday 12 Adar II, 5774

Binah has the spirit of chochmah/wisdom, but it has the element of hishavut – the element of 'making it happen'.

Chochmah is beyond 'doing' – it is the sight of reality itself.

Thought is not a faculty of the soul. It is a garment of the soul. The garment is according to the size of the body... so the garment is only to account for the external dimensions... this is to say, thought accomdates the outer, 'performance' element of the soul.

And binah is similar to machshavah/thought (as discussed above).

“I Know It, Because I Know It” p:56

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel ThursdayNight 11 Adar II, 5774

In the modern world bina can easily become associated with 'encountered knowledge' - knowledge gained by touch not wisdom. In the world, knowledge and presence is based on, 'I encountered it'. And this is said to be the source of the existence...!

With this perspective you come up with the theory that the wold is just evolved, from a 'big bang'. And so too with this perspective ownership is reduced to consent or the 'protection of your turf and property' from the claims of others...!

Bina is a fine sense. Not based on my personal experience. It is based on the truth - on the truth that chochmah/wisdom is showing... The opposite of this is 'we're all monkeys and our perception is no deeper than the surface'.

And truth is not empirical. It is a soul statement. This is the source of my knowledge. I know there is a First Being. I know it because I know it. Not based on any experience or encounter.

Abraham says there is meaning behind everything we see. There is a master to this dwelling. There is truth behind every existence, that gives it reality.

We all sense that life is eternal and that the body is not eternal. The reality of our presence is our life and not our body. Why are we in a body? To perform a mission in the physical setting. So truth can be manifest in a physical world.

Chochmah sees things from a higher level – beyond 'left and right'. It sees things from the Creator's perspective rather than from the created's perspective.

Will relates to things above time and space. That's why the Baal Shem Tov says, 'where a person's will is, that's where he is'. Ratzon/will is the force of reality itself. Each thing wants to be what it is. It its own being it senses the Godly truth. This is what is given to it by the Godly spirit. This is ratzon/will.

)

And this ratzon is much higher than time and space. It relates to a Godly truth. There is no 'reason' for it.

“A Prince On Earth” p:56

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel Wednesday 10 Adar II, 5774

Page 56

At 10th line from the top of page – (line begins: "lo yesh klal...”) For text, click: Here.

When you walk on the earth, realize where you are. The earth supports life. Tread on the earth with respect. You tread on earth because you are the Creator's prince. Now you have the right – now you are welcome.

Each person was placed on earth as an individual, with the full right to be here...

When a person has a specific acquisition it is based on his original relationship to the earth. It is a practical expression of that higher truth. This is like the relationship between chochmah/wisdom and binah/understanding.

And then the specific ownership of a person excludes the others. This is like midos/emotional level, where the measure of positive and negative is expressed. Embedded in it is the higher truth that this person was placed on earth by the Creator, who gave him his mission.

At whatever level you comprehend something you have to still see the Godly light in it. Without that you walk on a surface, without the element of reality. This would be like seeing your ownership just as the exclusion of others, without the Godly reality, and then it would just be about 'protection of your turf'...!

Binah/understanding comes down and informs the midot/emotions. Chochmah/wisdom is above this – it is like sight. You see all, but without relating to it.

Binah also allows for change, but in binah there is already a form, like 'ownership to the exclusion of others'. In chochmah there is no form of positive and negative.

We are saying that at the level of chochmah there is no definition of midot/emotions, 'it can go either way...'

Every sechel has an inherent form/tziur. This is because it comes from a true source. It captures and brings to the level of consciousness the truth that is higher than sechel.

Every sechel has a point. The elemental truth that it is striving to reveal.
