We
are discussing the light of sechel, in contrast to how it is inside
its vessel. We understand life at the vessel level. We don't
understand life itself. So to with sechel/mind. The level that is
comprehensible is not the essence of mind.
The
rebbe is saying there is one level of mind as it is in the vessel of
the brain, and then there is the higher level as it is in the soul of
the mind (nefesh hamaskelet).
The
principle of mind/sechel in contrast to everything else... Sechel
looks at things from a truth perspective. It is the Godly view.
Sechel is the view 'as He is showing it to you'.
Our
mashal/metaphor for this is, 'the host and the guest'. The
relationship cannot be defined or grasped. They have a meal
together, and conversation etc and this is the result of the
undefined factor. The undefined factor is acknowledgement of who
that person's Godly presence (not his social status etc).
The
soul is not affected by anything in the world. It cannot be
touched...! It is the Godly truth. It cannot be insulted. People
built the tower of Babel – did they know what they were doing?
They were so deeply affected by the idolatry that they lost sight of
reality.
There
is a truth that is not body and worldly dependent.
There
is truth beyond the experiential. Truth comes form Him.
The
soul knows this. He is known to us at a soul level. This is the
real source of intellect. If there is world, there is truth behind.
When
we have a concept and mind, it does not start at that level. It is
based on a truth behind it that we sense.
Real
life is not experiences of hot and cold; pleasure and pain... real
life is beyond that.
He
is talking to you and giving you a mission. This is life. If God
made the world with will it would not be real. He makes the world by
speech and this way things are distinct and people are have
consciousness.
