There’s a Godly element that is the beginning of everything. And it is also embedded in the soul of man [nefesh ha’adam]. This is reflected in man’s sense that ‘things should be right’.
In throwing a stone there is an appreciation of ‘doing it right’, and in the act of painting there is an even deeper sense… a hergesh pnimi [an inner appreciation].
A stone can be thrown pretty well without much attention [after a person has developed the skill]. The mind does remain engaged on a concealed level. The same cannot be said of the act of painting - the mind/sechel must remain on a deeper and more overt level.
