We were saying that in spiritual influence, such as sechel/mind there has to be a limit in terms of scope and definitions.

We looked at what is meant by 'sechel/mind'. It is not easy for us, in the modern world, where external sechel/mind is so influential to identify real sechel. External sechel is not really sechel. It is just the organization of the external/empirical elements of the word.

Inner sechel/mind has its own perspective. The mind of man says that, 'when you eat you should sit in one place and not stuff your mouth'. And there is nothing on the level of the activity itself that says this. It is a 'mind' element not based on the activity, but based on being a human being.

It is true only for the human being and is not defined externally.

The human being is in a different category from everything else. A different calibre. Man was made as an individual, because every human being is a whole world. Each has the soul insight of respecting what he is as a Godly creation.

The faculty of maskil/mind forces you to consider the correct way to proceed. A human being doesn't just 'navigate' by bumping into things and taking actions that he later finds distasteful.

Even though sechel/mind has structure, but that is only its external element. The real element is a statement of 'it makes sense' without the structure...

Moach/brain senses the presence of the soul. It is the seat of sechel/mind.

It is written that, 'you are children of God'. Just as a son is sourced in the essence of the mind (moach) of the father, so too the souls are rooted in the essence of the supernal wisdom.

The difference between souls and angels is known. Souls are resulting from a union of zaa and malchus – sphirot at the midot (emotion) level – a physical union. And the angels result from an intellectual union – a spiritual union – expressed by kissing.

It would seem that a spiritual union would be higher than a physical union, yet we know that souls are superior to angels...!

The transfer of the essence is via physical union, specifically. The spiritual union is only an external hashpah...

The moach (physical brain) receives vitatlity from the soul. It senses 'there is reality, and I am for real'. It senses there is a First Being.

The moach is then able to provide the reality of what the master is teaching. And he gives sechel (mind) not moach (physical brain). Till the student is able to see it the same way as the teacher. The student verifies it through his own life element and says, 'yes, this is how it is...'

We are elaborating on the principle of 'fullness of service' (shlaymut ha-avodah). It means completeness and perfection of the service. There is cognizance only of the crown itself and not how it affects one. This can be related to only in silence/shtikah. The soul wants the crown in its purity, not in a translated form.

Tshuvah is the second manner that allows for a 'download' of the crown, which come automatically to a suitable place. It is an automatic reality. To be recognized, the first way was silence, and the second was tshuvah/return.

Real return (tshuvah) is not a quest to satisfy a certain desire. It is the realization that 'I cannot be away from this truth. I will no longer tolerate being distant'.

The inner reality is based on 'intent' rather than 'presence'. When he says, 'I do not want to be distant' it is based on the truth of Godliness. This is where tshuvah touches the same them as completeness of service (shlaymut ha-avodah).
