We have been talking of 'blessings' – a blessing does not create a new entity. It's role is to bypasses obstacles and brings things down from the source.

It brings from the concealed world to the revealed world.

Our metaphors for concealed/briyah and revealed/yetzirah are thought and speech.

Both of which are rooted in the soul.

Thought is the source for speech. But the speech is not there on a 'quiet' level – it precedes being felt. And it cannot be revealed the way it is in thought. Thought is not sensed externally.

Speech works only if there is a common platform – a common language.

Thought... is drawn from the soul and cannot be revealed externally. A common platform is needed for sharing – this is in physicality – first comes the sounds/words and then the light/meaning is dressed in them...

The reason we cannot know what a person thinks is because thought does not exist on an external level.

The letters of thought are very fine. They are intangible. They cannot be known externally. And only these fine letters are capable of sensing the light of the soul. They are so refined they do not block the light of the soul.

They are 'spiritual letters'.

All comes from Godliness. That is the only source. Godliness is presence. Presence that cannot possibly be know. A presence that can be know, becomes a presence at the moment where it becomes known... Something that has no beginning cannot be known. Godliness does not have worldly parameters – it did not 'come into being'.

The letters of thought are representative of the first being that comes to be and thus don't have the attributes of a physical 'thing'... they are just there, not known by contrast...

This is like 'the provider for a presence, without yet being a presence...'

there is a true First Being, that is not preceded by non being... and there is no way for us to conceptualize.

This is a Being that is not dependent on presence. It is not measured by tangibility.

So there is a primary true 'nothing' that proceeds all something...

Is the beginning of everything is being or not being? The primary truth is yes. Yes being. A being that is not an identifiable presence...!

The world is just a creation. Something that He voluntarily made. It is there because He wants it to be there. Know that there is a Creator who set a purpose for the world, and without this the world is a non-entity.

So back to 'chomer harishon' – it is the first material that does not have any form. The basis for its being is not any kind of specific message or form. It is representative of the fact that His nothingness (ein ve effes) is a true presence...

We can look at the world and see that the reason it seems so real is due to its limitation...

The Greek philosophers, went this deep and are quoted in the Zohar, since they asked, 'what makes me see this?' and they realized there are things beyond what I see that are more true... 'How do I identify that which I cannot see? That I will call 'chomer harishon' – first material'.

This is to sense what our soul thinks about (vs what the body deals with), where things are not known by contrast. We have soul faculties that are superior to those of our intellect.

This is what gives vitality. This is what we employ in understanding the truth – Torah and Judaism...

The primary material is perplexing and is called tohu...

Thought is a window into the soul. It is not an action like speech. Thought is continuous. This is the way the soul makes itself known to the body.

This class has been to explain the difference between a higher and a lower world – between thought and speech...

A blessing/bracha draws from a concealed state, that is not in a state of existence.

“Presence Without Form” p:54

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel

At about a few lines above the middle of page – (line begins: "gum ken...”) For text, click: Here.

There are two worlds – the revealed and the concealed world. The concealed world cannot be revealed externally.

The metaphor for this is the two worlds within the human being – the world of thought and the world of speech.

They are both are driven by the soul itself, which is a primary reality. Yet this primary reality is represented on 3 different levels – 1. the level of soul itself, 2. the way the mind/sechel is perceived in thought, which is already the level of world (there is a structure), and 3. the world of speech which is also giving expression to soul...

Speech has to be in a very structured format so that it will have a meaningful pressence. It is 'from below to above'. This is the revealed world. You can grasp what is being revealed.

In a worldly context there cannot be material without a form. You cannot say nothing... if you make a sound, it has meaning. So how can you have a presence without a form? Because it represents ein/nothing, which has no form... this is material without form... this is the first presence / chomer harishon.

It has no messages. It is just representative of the 'nothingness'. It is telling you that nothingness is a reality at a high level. Don't tell yourself that reality is only something you can grasp with your hands. Reality is beyond your grasp.

“You Don't Know What I'm Thinking”

At about 10th line from top of page – (line begins: "Hashem...”) For text, click: Here.

A blessing is a way to bring something down from the concealed world into the revealed world...

Thoughts are inner and not revealed... yet machshavah/thought is called a world. It is hard to know why they are a world...

In words we here a sound and you know there's a content to the sounds. But with thought you are initially unaware of the 'words' of your thoughts...

Pure sechel/mind, is what is dressed in thought.

Mind comes down to be known at the level of thought. And to do this it must be dressed in words... to make it known... without the letters and worlds, we could not know it...

These letters must not interfere with the concept. They are very fine. They do not announce themselves as a presence, so as not to cover over the content... this is why they cannot be sensed from the outside. They are bringing the source...

In the modern world the garment was substituted for the inner content.

Sechel/mind is not just to identify items, but to see the significance of thing. It is due to the truth of the nefesh/soul. It can only relate to that which should exist.

The soul of man is a Godly truth. It does not accept things that it 'happens upon', it sees there 'is a reason why something is here'...

A human being is not a 'living body'. If that was the case he would know only what the body tells him. Rather he is life in a body. Life is real. It is truth. And that is a completely different perspective.

So sechel, even while dressed in letters, remains a soul truth... a thought cannot be seen outside, a soul cannot be outside.

Real knowledge is not based on demonstration.

In thought you sense the truth of the soul, but it is a bright light of the soul that cannot be shared with another... Why can it not be shared? Soul is soul and cannot be given away...

The light of the soul in at reduced level is called a faculty. Light is not a presence of its own. It is always connected to the source.

We are looking at the creation of 'world to world' – this is the concealed and revealed worlds...

The concealed world is still a world. It has a structure. Chochmah/wisdom corresponds to sight – and with one glance you can see across a huge expanse... we see the expanse and everything that populates it. This does not fit into worldly parameters...

There are 2 ways of seeing. One is by encounter and one is by the thing revealing itself – the essence showing you 'what there is', and then you can see it all at a glance, and you see the basis of 'where it is coming from'. This is a different level of reality.
