The animal soul cannot put itself aside to relate to the union, it must have a handle on the worldly level, but it does grasp a reflection of the truth.

A reflection or modified element of G-dliness allows for world and elokus. Soul is essence and eternal and body has no essential quality and cannot sustain itself one moment. Yet there is a point where they interact. The soul enlivens the body and the body recognizes an aspect of the soul.

How does the animal soul have G-dly sensitivity? It meditates on the fact that for all that exists in the world there is ohr/light and chayut/life of G-d. It senses that a physical thing has no ability to perpetuate its existence. It continues due to the G-dly effect.

This is the work of the animal soul, to recognize that in each thing is a G-dly force that maintains its existence and enables it to present itself. The animal soul is a human animal soul.

By means of thinking into this with deep concentration the work of the animal soul progresses. It goes beyond logic. The depth is where he experiences this reality.

He identifies with the G-dly light and life and sees the essence of each thing is Elokus/G-dliness.

Why do you notice anything? If something calls your attention there has to be something of significance. There must be something real. The table is made of wood. What calls your attention, the wood or the form? The form of the table has significance.
