Always
remember that etzem/essence is representative of the Creator. It is
that which pre-exists the creation. And it pre-exists it not due to
any need.
The
reason there is procreation is due to the Godly presence and his
command, and His presence that is represented thereby.
Contrast
this with hashpah sichli (spiritual mentorship). The mentor
describes something beyond his understanding and evokes that in the
other. Since it it a reality that encompasses both he and his
student.
How
much more so is this true of the seminal drop and the embryo, where
our understanding is even less...
Think
of throwing a ball. You anchor yourself and gather your focus. So
too when thinking of a sechel – you can't do it while running a
marathon, you sit an focus. And the mashpiah, works from a base that
is not his own... he works from a base beyond him.
We
