We have attempted to
identify, as far as possible with the mind/sechel, etzem ve mehus.
It is not something that stems from the world. From a worldly
perspective there is no essence.
But in truth the
world is representative of a Godly presence. This makes it real and
gives it a real presence.
Essence manifests
itself in giving birth. It is the result of the essence of the soul.
Intimate relations
must be in the dark. There must be no distraction from the essence.
That is when you sense the Godly reality.
A human being is
mindful in essence. His first reaction to something is on the level
of sechel/meaning. This is because there is a light of mind (ohr ha
sechel) that emanates from the essence of this faculty.
But by contrast the
influence of the seminal drop (tipa) is from the essence,
exclusively, and not from the ohr/light.
An essence is not
'what I am' but rather what 'He made me'.
A tree does not fight
for survival. It gives fruit and does so by saying, 'look what the
earth and God is giving through me...!'
