Questions and comments:

We are asking, 'how is it possible that a level above mind, could be dressed into mind/sechel?!

How does it happen?

This can happen because even the sechel that is above in the soul is of the level of 'sechel/mind'. It qualifies as sechel/mind but does not have the limits of that realm...

life is a constant reality, yet it is active – the soul gives life to the body. This means there is a giver and a recipient – positive and negative – yet it is constant...!

So we look at the metaphor of breathing. We see that it is smooth. That is is initiated by the Source of life. You don't gasp for breath. On the physical level this translates to 'air pressure' that presses air/life into you. It is a replication of the spiritual realm.

Its like the 'world itself' wanting you to live. So you have real life. So too spiritually. Chochmah/wisdom which corresponds to sight. You don't see because you investigate. It is presented to you.

When you have your eyes open, you see the entire reality. Not just what happens to be in front of you.

He makes the soul and he does not let the soul become oblivious to Him.

He blows the soul into you. And makes sure that nothing ever intervenes between Himself and the soul.

What you have with the soul is not what it receives, but the Giver. The soul is always with her Creator.

So on the one hand the soul is a creation, yet the usual limits of creation don't apply.

The soul is always aware of His presence, since it is pressed into her. For other creations there is the need to solicit this connection.

This is like the 'hidden wisdom'. That is continually connected. It is completely concealed. But there is something given...!

You have a living soul in you. This is how you know. Your life is not reactive.

We know we are alive even if 'nothing is bothering us'. The wealthy man can get bored and miserable. There's a force of life in him that says everything has a meaning, not just a presence. The soul is telling him he is alive. He gets over his discomfort by responding to his soul's call and making moves to know and serve Him.

We have a soul that is a vibrant life force, given by the Source of life. The soul is aware of this continually.

Physical life is a replication of the spiritual life.

Unfortunately human reality has been obscured from us.

That you can think on the conceptional level is not a concoction of the human mind. It is from above. It is founded on His infinity.

This relates to what is outlined in the class called Instinct and Intellect.

All starts from a supreme reality. A reality of life. And that is brought down into a worldly context so the highest can be reflected in the lower level. This is because “He desires a dwelling place in the lower worlds” - that are alive and not deprived of the higher level.

“Breathe With Me” p:31/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 31 of pamphlet – (2nd line of the page. Line starts: 'chochmah stimah...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

There is concealed wisdom that I know not due to investigation and deduction from observation. It originated in me in a concealed manner. It was not the result of my own activity. It was imparted to me from Above.

A metaphor for this: think of breathing. It is a necessity and a real experience. Yet, we breath not because we struggle for air, but because it is pressed into me – it is given to me.

Being alive in the world is more than my own experience of 'I am alive'.  The Maker wants that I should live.  He keeps me alive by his effort.  All I need to do is not resist.  To accept.

Chochmah stimah (hidden wisdom) is of a similar nature. It is imparted from above.

This is wisdom without trigger.  On a lower level of chochmah there is what triggers my knowing.

And this is why the hidden/stimah chochmah is incomparable to the higher/ilah chochmah.

The hidden level shines into the level below it.

“Sense of Reality” p:31/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 31 of pamphlet – (top line of the page. Line starts: 'lehiyot...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

We are emphasizing sechel/mind. There are various faculties of the soul that are dressed in the body.

We are looking at how sechel is different and special. All the faculties get their inspiration and their sense of reality from the sechel.

The brain is where the sechel is transformed from being a soul faculty, to being one of the faculties of the human being.

The soul is spiritual, but it is based on its cognizance of the giver of life. Without this connection it would be miserable.

Chochmah/wisdom is the recognition of its Creator. The soul is not after 'experience', she wants 'Godliness itself'.

And this is sechel/mind it in its true form.

And this is translated in the body. It is a lower level, but it is sechel. You cannot eat the food if the host leaves.

We have sechel in the body, because there is sechel in the soul/nefesh.

Chochmah is the perception that we are talking about truth. Absolute truth.

“Quest for Him” p:31/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 31 of pamphlet – (top line of the page. Line starts: 'lehiyot...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

We are being shown a principle.

A faculty from the soul level is imbued into a body so that the body absorbs it and the soul faculty functions at the level of the body, while retaining a soul quality.

What facilitates this correlation and descent of the soul faculty?

This is due to the fact that in its origin state where it is exclusively a soul faculty, where there is no precariousness, it is a particular faculty.

The soul knows itself not by its own identity and experience, but by what the chochmah tells it. This is the concealed chochmah.

Chochmah is 'what am I from His perspective' and this can come down and be revealed at the moach/brain level.

In the soul where there is no darkness it is also called chochmah, because it is knowledge from above it. The soul says, 'it is not from me, it is from Him Himself'.

“Soul Mind” p:31/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 31 of pamphlet – (top line of the page. Line starts: 'lehiyot...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

Sechel/mind might be seen as a reaction to things...

Sechel understands there is a way, 'one is supposed to go...'

Sechel says, 'the world is not a jungle. It was made by the Creator that provides for all the creations. And you don't need to become an animal to make your way in My world...!'

And this sechel is rooted in the soul before it came to be dressed into the body.

And sechel pursues the truth by its own initiative.

And it gets dressed into the brain and operates on that level too.

Human sechel sechel says, 'there is a meaning to you being here. And the physical world has a reality beyond what can be measured. I am meant to live here, because He put me here, not because I happen to be here.'

There is significance in the physical.

Sechel is always asking and addressing, 'why did God create me?' This is a hidden wisdom in the human framework. It is a quiet inner pursuit.

The response to boredom is not distraction, action or competition. These things are just attempts to ignore the hidden wisdom of sechel...

“Soul Knowledge” p:30/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 30 of pamphlet – (2nd last line of the page. Line starts: 'venireh...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

We think sechel is the used to unravel complicated situations. In fact sechel is beyond that, and has an essential element. The soul, which is completely above any complications and uncertainty, also has sechel!

Sechel is a Godly gift. There is nothing 'natural' about it. It is outside the 'natural' structure.

There is no 'natural' way to explain the human being. Even the evolutionists say that the human being is an oddity in the 'evolution' of life.

“No Structure; Just Reality” p:30/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 30 of pamphlet – (2nd last line of the page. Line starts: 'venireh...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

We are talking about the principle that sechel/mind has many levels.

From the perspective of the lower level the higher level seems above sechel.

In the lower sechel there is the content – the subject and the means to understand it. At the higher level which is the source, there is no structure, just reality.

Ratzon/wisdom does not have the level of discovery. It comes from the soul. Sechel/mind is a derivative of ratzon, but there is an element of discovery in sechel.

Chochmah seems to have no element of 'discovery' since it associates with the essence, not the 'thing'. Nevertheless it is part of sechel, and there is an element of 'discovery' – you have to have your eyes open to see – it is an 'active' pursuit.

Ratzon/will does not have that 'discovery' element. It is reflective of life itself. Life is continuous.

So if the originating wisdom is so removed, how does it relate to being dressed into a vessel, where it is identified with definition.

The living soul, relates to the life element of everything. The life element is seen in the way that the injured hand heals. The life element brings about the healing on the physical level. This is the mehus.
The sechel can be lowered and bring life to the physical realm. This originated in the soul, and now it becomes dressed in the physical brain. How is that possible?

The answer is that even at the higher level is has the element of chochmah/wisdom. What is chochmah doing in the high soul level? In the soul itself, even though it is life and Godliness, it has the cognizance that it has a sense of what God wants from it.

Chochmah is grasping the essence/mahut. And what is the mahut of anything? Its purpose.

And this is where the Godly element surfaces.

This is the definition of world – man will come and reveal the reality of world – prior to man's creation, the world was not a world!

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 30 of pamphlet – (2nd last line of the page. Line starts: 'venireh...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

The wisdom of the soul is way beyond that which is enclothed in the brain, yet it is the source for the wisdom found on the level of 'brain'.

The wisdom/chochmah relates to the essence of things.

So how does the light of chochmah impact the observable level?!

The body lives because it has a soul in it. The soul lives, because it is alive. In the body you can deny the truth. In the soul there is no way to deny truth. There is no vessel, just truth.

“Real” p:30/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 30 of pamphlet – (2nd last line of the page. Line starts: 'venireh...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

How is it that something so supreme, the light of sechel can descend and be present in the brain which is in the body?!

The wisdom dressed into the physical brain is in a physical setting, yet it has perceptions beyond the physical limits.

It has perception beyond the framework of what can be measured. The mehus/essence is thus within time and space...!

The physical level is a Godly creation and retains that miraculous element. Even though there is a tendency to limit the world to what can be measured and counted...

There is a super-worldly light that is dressed into the world.

The light of chochmah/wisdom presents us with a sense of the reality of the world.

Chochmah is the presentation of what you see, as the soul sees it; in contrast to how the body sees it.

“From the Highest to the Lowest” p:30/23

AyinBase / Ayin Beis with R' Paltiel, Shvat 5776

Page 30 of pamphlet – (below halfway into the page. Line starts: 'halimud...'). Page 23 of the book. For text see below.

Questions and comments:

There are levels of sechel/mind. The higher level is the source for the lower level even though it seems to be in a completely different world.

We have tried to clearly identify sechel/mind. In principle there are many levels coming from the soul. The soul is a Godly presence beyond definition. From the soul comes elements that are so limited they can be contained in the body... till the mind functions at the level of the brain...!

Something as simple as the faculty of movement covers a huge distance – from the highest to the lowest.

The movement of the human being is not like that of the animal. In the human being it is defined by his sechel/mind. He plans first and then executes. The animal by contrast, seems to be doing the same thing, but its awareness is totally different. It operates on the level of instinct.

Sechel enables human beings to do things that have no ramifications or potential gain. Instinct relates only directly to the subject's situation.

Sight is like sechel – it allows you to recognize the presence of things independent of their effect on you.

A human being knows that existence in general is way beyond worldly situations.

Sechel is based on that which is higher than world. And this is what gives it a sense of reality.

And there are many levels of this...

And from the highest level it devolves downward till it is dressed in the brain... till it attributes true presence to something that is finite... for example the finite dining room table has an infinite human purpose.

Sechel identifies with the reality which is the mehus.

Sechel/שכל bears witness to the fact that existence is rooted in something higher than existence.

Questions and comments:

Something that is always there, but we seldom sense: 'mehus'. Chochmah/wisdom is primarily the identification of the mehus.

Life is real. As long as you are alive you heal and the light remains. That is mehus.

One moment of life is worth any effort. Why? Because life is real. This is obvious. But the 'scientific thought process' obfuscates this.
