In these pages the Rebbe has been explaining the effect of the surrounding level on the inner level [makif on the pnimi].
There is an aspect to the soul, every jewish soul constantly has it - the continuous desire to cleave to Godliness.
This is inherent. This is not acquired by meditation. It precedes any mind level - it is inherent in the soul.
It is irrespective of education - the illiterate simpleton has it too…
This is called emunahy [faith].
Sight and breathing are effortless and constant. This experience of a constant experience [which is a kind of anomaly] is indicative of faith [emunah].
Usually sight is a metaphor for chochmah [wisdom].
It is our experience - we can close our eyes - and yet it is constant.
So the experience of sight is that which if beyond what we can fully identify. So too with faith [emunah].
It surrounds us. It is beyond us. Yet we experience it. There is a desire in the soul which is an absolute constant…
We are given an experience from a higher Source…
The real experience of life is not that we are alive, but that God wants us to live. This trumps our own personal desire to live.
And the faith is rooted in the reality that is behind it.
Faith sees the truth of Godliness.
