The context is that we have been saying that creations are created by the union of chochmah and bina (nothing and something). We said that this is called a spiritual union – like that of master and student. The master allows the student to understand, based on the student's own mind... so there is no new creation.

But angels are spiritual and full creations that have a knowledge of Godliness. Yet they are connected to that which is above them.

The source above is what gives the creature real existence down below. If this root light was to show itself in full force on the creature below it would be nullified and loose its presence altogether.

There is a spiritual power in everything. In the human being, there is a spiritual presence that gives it life. He has sechel/mind which allows him to perceive beyond the physical level.

And since the soul is exposed in the body, why does it not ovewhelm it? This is because the soul touches the brain and does not overwhelm it.

And the body is able to live up to a level that is respectable to the soul that is imbued in it.

But if the soul was to reveal itself on the body in full glory, then he would lose his physical presence.
