We are saying that the vessels/keilim, at the level of atzilus are both near and far. How can that be?

They are independent vessels, but united with their source.

The Baal Shem Tov says a person is where he wants to be.

A person wants to live. This is not a default setting. This is a real reality. He wants to live, not just because he happens to be alive. This is beyond filling any lack.

This is beyond conceptualization.

Since the ratzon/will of man is of such deep reality, it does not dissipate when a soul comes into a body.
