The
spark does not illuminate. It just tells you there is a spark,
without illuminating its surroundings. To illuminate it needs to
have a base, like a flame on a wick.
The
vessels/keilim are likened to the spark. They are made of the same
material as the light itself.
One
may think a big flame contains many sparks, but a spark is separated
from the flame.
What
is a word? Each word is a representative... it contains a message
that is beyond the word. Only human beings are called
'medaber/speaker'. The fine song of birds are not called speech.
This is because, the human word has a sound, a form, and a meaning,
but its main effect is an allusion to something beyond words. Soul
in words. That is only found in the human being.
This
is the phenomenon of keilim.
The
greatness of man is that he has a soul. But greater still is his
ability to speak and reveal this soul.
