What does 'light dressed into the world' mean?

Our thinking is refined by striving to relate to fine elements beyond our regular thinking...

We looked at the 'comprehension of the soul before it descends into the world'...

The gemara says, 'if there is no awe, there is no wisdom'. What is the relationship? Awe/yirah seems above in the realm of midot/emotions... But they are related. This is like the way that the knowledge that, 'there is a reality' precedes physical sight.

So the understanding of the soul, before the descent into the body, is exclusively about the Godly truth. It relates to the Godly truth without effort because it is part of it. There is no obstruction.

However, the Rebbe explains, that the soul only a reflection/ha-arah of the Godly light - ie that level which can be dressed into the world... Essence is qualitatively different to this.
