In
the Torah are 3 levels – desert, settlement and field. At the
giving of the Torah a special element was revealed, which can only be
described as Essence/etzem.
Nothing
can be said about etzem. It is essential. There is no observation
element.
The
significance for us is enormous.
The
foundation of all foundations, says the Rambam is the principle that
there is a First Being.
These
words counter the 'worldly' perspective. In a worldly context, each
thing was preceded by non-existence, and the impetus for its being is
some kind of need...
in
contrast to this is the truth that He made all and brings forth each
thing forward into creation intentionality. The world is not based
in nothing, but in Him. He is beyond description. He is essential.
Essence is reality itself.
Torah
has a message and lends itself to be understood in sechel/mind, but
the source behind it is beyond identification. It comes from
essence.
Being
that essence does not explain itself, the question does not arise.
To create and be is an essential truth.
And
so in the Torah are 3 levels – desert, settlement and field.
Desert is a wasteland, but it is a presence without limit.
Emptiness. How do you relate to it? Because you know the principle
of the 10 hidden sphirot.
