We are looking at the differences between creation which comes from an essence, in contrast to that which comes from a reflection/ha-arah.

Think of a car. It is a reflection of the human spirit. The human being perceives himself as a presence in the entire world. He belongs everywhere, and the world belongs to him. A human being is involved in an entire reality even if walking towards a specific destination.

And so the car is a presentation of a broad spirit. And the route he takes is one choice from an instant array. The car is a reflection/ha-arah of this spirit.

When we look at the car do we immediately see this ha-arah? Or do we see a mechanical entity? The reflection gets lost in the item itself. The spirit can get so lost that the car can be used to race in circles, going nowhere!

And essence cannot get lost like this. It is the reality itself.

We have 3 distinct levels of revelation: 1. in the process of reflection, 2. that represented by the process of creation (creation of something from nothing), and then 3. there is creation in the form of souls, which is its own category. This is like fathering a son (autoe hahmehus).

Something from nothing (yesh mieyen) is the hardest to describe. It seem to belie a source! The something seems to be without a cause. A car is made due to a human spirit, but the car does not replicate that spirit. The spirit enables the car. So too the world and the Creator. It indicates His infinite ability.

The car is an actualization of an aspect of the human spirit on a lower level...

Essence to essence is beyond creation. The soul is a replication. It is called a creation for lack of a better term.

The soul is the very same truth as the Source. The soul is distinct, but not separate creation. It is part of Him... think of the rays of the sun shining through many cracks...
