Everything
needs a root. And this is what relates it to the Godly reality.
From
the concept alone will not come midot/emotions. So too with
Godliness. One needs to comprehend and apprehend and reflect on it
for emotions to be aroused. But from the chochmah stage of seeing
Godliness alone, he will not be aroused to love and awe...
We
are focused on the reality, not on the human reaction. On the human
level a person can get excited about things that don't mean anything
to him at all. Sechel/mind is the real human element.
Sechel
is not cold and objective. It is a soul expression – a life
element. The sechel brings this reality to the forefront and births
love and awe. His heart is alive to the truth that the sechel sees.
A
human being is life in a body. Not a living body.
The
sechel/mind dresses itself in the body – all the way down to the
hand and the foot...!
Sechel
is too close to the soul to result in emotions/midot. It is like the
ray of the sun within the sun – it is for internal consumption.
The life has to spread to reach the heart. This is the way it
reaches us. This is by means of comprehension and reflection. I can
walk on the world not because it is solid, but because I was invited
to do so...
I
want to be on earth because this is where He is manifest. 'I made
the earth and I made man upon it' – says God. Why 'upon it'? This
is because He gave man reality. My full reality on earth.
Sechel/mind
is a soul statement. It is inherent. It precedes encounter.
In
the sunlight you can see across the street. That is just a practical
element. But then there is 'day'. The day is a complete
transformation. Visibility becomes the reality of the world. What
effects this? It is not the light that makes the transformation, it
is the presence of the sun itself...! Within that is the chochmah
and binah.
