Why
was there a total contraction and then a re-introduction of light.
Why not just a partial contraction? This was to enable the
revelation of keilim/vessels.
And
there is an advantage to the vessels over the light, even though we
usually say that the lights are far superior to vessels!
In
terms of sechel/mind, the light is far more human and meaningful than
the vessels/keilim.
But
from the perspective of absolute fact, the vessels are more basic.
The
Rambam says, the basis of all knowledge is to know that He is
producing all. And this is seen in the vessels more than in the
light. This is the principle of 'First Being' – there is no
justification for his being.
He
presents Himself.
