Etzem does not become a source for something. If it creates something else that is a reflection not the essence.

Rather the essence does not have a presence. When this 'non-presence' identifies itself as 'something' that is called creation coming from essence. The soul is an essence that is not dependent on presence.

The Alte Rebbe said, 'I don't want anything except You alone!' This is like a fire. The soul is like a flame. The flame rises up to its source where it will cease to be. While it is an 'item/metziut' in its own consciousness it is not an item/metziut!

What does man bring to the world? Everything in the world is all reactive. Nothing is an entity because of itself. So what's the point? The human being is the exception. He brings to the world 'essential presence'. He brings value for it's own sake. The real truth of the world is 'In the beginning He made it' – it has no presence of it's own. Everything in the world is only presence, and thus fundamentally a lie. In the context of world it is something, but in the real context of reality it is nothing/false.

All worldly things lack reality. The Human Being is the exception to this. He realizes the earth is suspended on Nothing. He relates to that. He is not dependent on worldly context.

The human being will not accept the lie of the world.

We get to elokus/G-dliness by sechel/mind. Human intellect is a step towards G-dliness.

Human intellect does not accept half answers. It doesn't accept that 'light comes from the sun' it knows that it is a G-dly decreee. It knows that the bread doesn't come from the baker. The soul is part of G-dliness, yet on the other hand it has an aspect of assuming and element of self identity.

The soul is the entity in the world that will not be fooled by appearances.

The principle is that the soul is a metziut atsmis / an essential item.

When the father creates the child – a child that did not exist previously – it is because the hashpa/influence is from the essential faculty of the father (atzmus koach ha-av). It is not the physical metziut of the father, but his faculty. In truth everything He created reproduces... plants animals... but here we are talking about souls.

It is not like the procreation of everything else in the world which is based on the perpetuity of the world. The human being, the Jew is different. Here it is not to do with species, but with the individual. The father has the element of truth and eternity and this is what he provides.
