We said sechel/mind
that is dressed in other faculties is not the real essence of sechel.
In the head the sechel is imbued in the actual material of the
brain.
The very truth and
essence of the sechel – to conceptualize all matters of sechel and
chochmah/wisdom...
the essence of human
life is in that comprehension. The human being cannot live simply
because he touches something in the world. Things have to have a
meaning. Beyond function one senses one's identity and purpose in
the sechel/mind.
The vitality is from
the soul. It cannot enliven the person directly in the body. To do
this the soul has to work via the faculties.
We have discussed the
difference between creatures of the sea and those of the land. Sea
creatures don't stand. On the land creatures stand. That calls for
a self cognizance and that is in the sechel.
Physicality per se
does not bring you into the reality of the world. Think of a guest
and a host. We all sense that even if the lunch is great, but the
host leaves, then the guest is left with nothing. The presence of the host is the ohr/light... The food is the tangible manifestation. The significance, and not the tangible
presence is what makes it acceptable to the human being. The human
being can only acknowledge the presence of something that is real.
This is the light of the soul as it translates in the sechel/mind.
The moach/brain is
miraculously sensitive to this intangible reality.
