Going from wisdom to understanding… the level of understanding has truth to it… it is real, not circumstantial…
The level of understanding has an essence - it is not just a derivative…
You may think ‘essence/etzem’ belongs more appropriately with wisdom/chochmah.
…And that understanding/binah is an elaboration, devoid of essence…
But actually, God created the world and every aspect of the world - down to every last blade of grass - and each element has a Godly phenomenon - truth.
Notes from Shlomo B:
[11:23 AM, 11/22/2017] Shlomo Bondo: From today's shier
1) חכמה
Comes from אין and בינה understands a circumstance
2) but it's not that the circumstance forces the ענין there is truth to it
3) there is a truth in viewing the world in an intelligent manner
4) it's not super imposed it's real
5) this is called a שכלי to the extent there is what's called
עצם השכלי
6) עצם
Means the essence that שכלי is not a result of certain experiences but there is an inherent truth and this whole fanomena of שכלי
7) עצם
Belongs to חכמה because עצם by definition comes in a pointed manner בינה is an elaboration
8) so the עצם in בינה is how חכמה is looking at בינה
9) חכמה
Is saying this approach what you have is true
10) נקידות השכלה
Is חכמה and חכמה represents the life force of the נשמה itself and then it
Comes out all the way at the bottom of it in a נקידות השכלה which means how can you perceive the life force of the נשמה from an external perspective
11) you looking at something which is real in itself and yes you can look on it
12) sight on one hand is the most convincing truth and on the other hand sight itself is quite precarious of because if you can close your eyes and not see how can this be a fundamental truth a fundamental truth cannot be distributed
13) which means yes you see but you only see the חיצוניות of it you see the way it's being shown to you the way it a appears this is not the real truth because the real truth cannot cease to be
14) nonetheless site is the means of bringing real truth on this it's חציונית'דיגע level so that you can understand and think into it this is called
נקידות ההשכלה
It's the bottom of חכמה but but its it in time and space
15) it is there and it is not there it is there because time allows for it but it's not there on its own therefore it's not the real thing
16) from this comes and other faculty which Hashem created it and is called בינה and realizes that there is an inherent truth in it let me get into it and see what this is about
17) חכמה
Can be seen from a worldly perspective that that division is true it's meant to be
18) and as this בינה is developed as the שכלי the circumstantial understanding is developed further and further you come to realize that this is not a circumstantial this carries a truth to it is meant to be
19) it is there and the means to know it has been provided
20) there is two ways to identify things one is sight and one is touch by identify by touch it does not exist until it has an effect on you were is when we know it by sight it exists in its own reality
21) that means that even in the experiential level of awareness you see it in time and space there is a fundamental truth to it is truth is not only there by its effect on you but it's on its own reality
22) even circumstantial knowledge is also carrying a fundamental truth
23) what's the point of the sky when everything is happening on the Earth ? The sky provides for your awareness that no matter were ever you go you are still under the same sky
24) the truth is because the sky encompasses it not because of itself
25) the reason you can identify all the details in the בינה because it's all related to the same truth
26) there is no way to dis associate with the truth
27) you get involved with the details and you lose the אור that unites them But ultimately the more you got into it you see how they are all interrelated
28) there is no reality but being connected to the Ultimate Reality
29) it's inherent that you connect with the reality you may lose sight on it but it still completely
30) it doesn't connect it's owned by the reality
31) therefore these circumstances have an imprint of Truth (Quoting Shlomo Yonson words)
And Notes from Rabbi Paltiel:
[12:08 PM, 11/22/2017] R' Abba Paltiel: We had a pretty tortuous Shiur with lots underlying frustration etc thus I feel it important to put it all together and point out the significance and ultimately the resulting gain: I will try to make as simple as possible using the analogy of earth and sky: it is obvious that as one moves on earth every step, twist and turn can ultimately be traced back to the starting point thus this fact may be construed to explain the interrelationship among the places that you passed, however the Torah tells us that there's also the sky along with the interconnectivity of all points on earth that provides for the sense of unity on earth to explain the effects of these two aspects: the interconnectivity on the one hand and the encompasment provided by the sky we make the distinction between the circumstanctacial
[12:10 PM, 11/22/2017] R' Abba Paltiel: Aspect vs the basic reality called עצם
[12:17 PM, 11/22/2017] R' Abba Paltiel: On top of this we add an important point that interconnectivity aspect is really dependent and is the result of the essential unity; this requires what's call labor יגיעה to fully sense which is on the חכמה level
