The power of movement in the hand remains a soul power, but it functions according to the abilities of the hand. This is an example of the light in a vessel. This is like the water in the colored vase.

For a trained musician the hand responds to the will of the soul. But it is not the hand itself, it is the koach ha-tenuah / the faculty of movement in the hand – the soul working through the refined/practiced hand. The hand became refined via training. The training eliminates the coarseness or laziness of the hand.

And the musical element is not the sound, it is the message – the speaking of the soul. On a physical level it comes out as a sound...

The Rebbe described how the Baal Shem Tov could sing – his range and ability - and none of this was to show his capability as a chazon/cantor.

The next metaphor the Pardes gives adds to our understanding. The light that appears to be the color of the glass through which it passes. The light itself retains its simple color. The light continues to represent the sun. Functionally it changes, but in essence it remains the same.
