From the perspective of the faculties of the soul there is no reason it would want to express itself and relate to the body.

But then there is the essence of the soul. It 'stays put'. The way the soul was placed into the world and the body is not via its functional qualities. The essence of the soul was 'forced' into the body. This is expressed by the verse, 'the soul was blown into you'. And thus the essence of the soul itself is connected to the world and the body.

And this is why it expresses itself in the body and the world.

Soul relates to the truth.

So the verse says, 'man walks with the form/tzelem'. The 'walking' is the revelation of the faculties of the soul...

Man walks 'step by step', but his sense of movement and possibility is limitless...

The angels stand, but man is a walker. He goes to a level beyond that which he can perceive from his original place.
