There
are names of God that may never be erased. These names each refer to
a different sphirah. There's a name that refers to kindness/chesed.
And the reference here is not to the 'light' of kindness, but rather
to the 'vessel' of kindness. Which is call 'actual kindness' – the
'form' of kindness – chesed mamash.
But
then we turn around and say, the names refer to Him Himself. So yes,
it is is in the vessel, but in the light and vitality of the vessel.
This is the vitality that makes the vessel exist (as opposed to the
light that fills the vessel).
This
vitality of the vessel is actually rooted in the reshimu/trace.
And
what is the reshimu/trace. Think of a man getting out of bed –
sechel/mind won't do it – an essential element is needed. The
actual getting up is a factual element – it is a vessel – it is a
summation – and it is based on, 'hey, this is reality!' This
reality is a sense in a person that he has an element that is beyond
his own sechel/mind and feelings. He is part of a bigger reality and
must participate in it. This is what gets him up.
And
the reshimu/trace is like this. When you realize a primary truth,
you can communicate the external words that can contain your
sechel/ideas.
