In yesterday's class there were many points that needed to be elaborated, but today's session is an open discussion.
The whole world devolved from an inner will and there is life and light. Now take our world. And there are deeds of light and darkness. There is enormous opportunity for good and making the world a better place to live. Provide health and wealth and fight poverty... all this goodness is rooted in Elokus – G-dliness. And how does Torah differ from this worldly kindness and goodness? Torah insists in the principle that all this is done for Him rather than for the sake of the world.
The choice is that He wants to be a participant. He wants to be present.
A normal healthy world is rooted in goodness.
But it is Torah that reveals His essence in the world rather than His goodness and kindness.
When we see goodness and kindness we see a worldly level of Him. When you see matzah you see His presence itself. They don't lend themselves to a worldly level of comprehension – just His presence on a worldly level.
This is the difference between infinite space and domain. Domain is a real presence. And that's where He is present. Domain exists only because it is provided by the host. You cannot take it with you. Space is worldly. You can take it with you.
