We said the Godly soul came down below to accomplish 2 things – to perfect the animal soul, and to bring Godliness below...

The Godliness here below should be in a state of dirah/dwelling.

This involves the essence itself being brought into the world (in contrast to just the Godly light).

The animal soul relates to this by bitul/humility rather than through its own faculties.

The animal soul cannot define and grasp it but says, there is a Godly presence, and that makes life worthwhile. Life is beyond understanding. The animal soul does not have the faculties to grasp this, but says, this is worthy! It identifies truth beyond its experience. It only gets there through bitul/humility.

And it says, 'that which I don't understand is what I want to dedicate my life to...'

Initially the animal soul is focused on its own experiences and accomplishments.

But in truth the spirit of a thing informs its form.
