Light in general is of the status of 'betzalmenu' – 'in our form', which is tzurah atzmis – essential form.

Light is of a different presence, even though it is a creation. It has the element of 'essential form'. What is light? It is something that exists only in the presence of an essence.

The Rebbe once spoke about the Shabbat Candles Campaign, and that there was a little girl who lit candles at home. The mother was not into it. But she saw the candles and could not turn on the TV while the candles were burning. She was influenced by the message of the candles. The message is representative of itself. This is light. There is no tangible element. It is the presence of the essence.

Light per se is 'in our form'. It is a statement that there is an essence.
