We
have discussed the principle of 'the name', pointing out that there
are different levels expressed in this. The Rebbe explains that
'name' and 'light' are the same thing. Just like light comes from an
essence and is only present in the presence of an essence. So too
with the 'name'.
And
this has been to understand how above, the reflection of the light
also has a connection to its source – the Essence.
The
10 sphirot that are seen after the tzimzum/contraction are deep down,
rooted in 'His name'.
We
say the soul is perfect, and all the faculties of the soul surface in
the light of the soul... We also point out that the functioning of
these faculties are identified externally and associated with certain
organs... for example in the soul you don't need sechel/mind, since
it is
the truth. But in the soul is the aspect of it being capable of
producing mind/sechel.
A
table is a human convenience, but we have understood how the table is
part of man's inner dignity and that it suits his nature... thus when
he sits at a table, it does not feel like something external – he
relates to it. This is due to the soul of man. He has an element of
malchus/royalty. So the actual fact of a table is found only in
certain circumstances, yet in the soul is the capability of relating
to a table as necessary. Essence can relate to the highest and the
lowest. The lowest perfects it.
Man
is a soul in a body. It represents the 10 sphirot. To cover
distance we use our feet. You may say 'feet' are evolved to handle
space.
But
we say the soul of man encompasses and relates to distance
inherently. The whole world is his platform. The revelation of the
ability to move there is his feet. The soul inherently has ability
to relate to distance. This is tikkunim – the soul is whole and
perfect in itself even when it does not need to use these faculties.
It relates to infinity.
The
tikkunim translate his reality at all levels.
A
human being always perceives the earth surrounded by an infinite sky.
And this is why he can relate to the earth!
The 10 sephirot even
while included in the Ohr Ein Sof, still have an element of names,
yet there it is with the aspect of 'essential name'.
A person knows he has
a name (even though unto himself no name is needed) and thus a
knowable presence in the world. Such a presence, that he will
actually be addressed and called and he will know what it means.
This is like the arousal of His will to be in the world.
