“Finite and Infinite” p: 170

Page 170 – at the top of the page (line starts, 'ku...') For text, see link top right of the blog.

The basic point is that of inclusion and connection. This is called devekus – cleaving. As a result of this, the light that comes out represents its source.

The tzimzum/contraction had a profound effect on the light. It is a concealment of the light and total incorporation within the source/luminary. For if it did not go through this process there would not have been created a light that was suitable for the level of the world. A light that can relate to worlds.

'World' means multiplicity. An this is only possible if the initial light is contracted and then a ray is sent forth into the remaining space.

The tzimzum/contraction results in a 'changed' light.

Before the tzimzum, everything was in an infinite manner and the ability to act in a limited manner was totally concealed.

The purpose of the tzimzum is for the faculty of finitude to be revealed. With the infinity hidden within it.
